Saltwater Flyfishing Action Beckons!


Most anglers coming up to QCL are in pursuit of Chinook and Coho salmon using the traditional techniques of mooching with bait or trolling with gear.  However we are seeing a growing number of keen sportsmen who spend at least some of their time casting streamer flies along the kelp beds.  Their rewards vary from scrappy black rockfish to acrobatic Coho and Chinook that test the skills of even the most experienced angler.


In the Pro Shop we stock some great equipment for our guests to enjoy angling for saltwater salmon on the cast fly. These new 8 weight , 9 foot Scott graphite fly rods  are perfectly matched to the ultra smooth Ross Cimarron 4 fly reel. Ask for it at the Pro Shop!


While silver-bright Coho are the main target for fly anglers, we have had some success in the hunt for Chinook on the fly.  It takes some effort but the rewards make it time well spent!
